Join us for a sacred, heart-centered ritual using plant medicine for emotional healing, connection, and self-reflection.
What is a Cacao ceremony? Cacao ceremonies are about intention, and when done with others, it’s also about community, so sharing is highly encouraged (although not required). We’ll drink ceremonial Cacao, pay homage to its origins, share our gratitude and intentions, meditate, and journal.
What is ceremonial Cacao? Scientifically called Theobroma Cacao, it is the raw, unprocessed version of chocolate. Ceremonial Cacao is made for ritual purposes and is produced with passion and intention.
What are the origins of Cacao ceremonies? Cacao ceremonies are rooted in indigenous practices from Central and South America, which is also where the ceremonial Cacao we consume is harvested and produced. It is important to acknowledge and honor the origins of this practice, as well as give thanks for the energies they’ve put into the making of it.
Does it taste like chocolate? Yes, because it is chocolate! However, it is unprocessed, so it's not as sweet as the chocolate you may know.
Is it safe to consume? Cacao is one of the foods richest in magnesium. Cacao supports heart and brain health, stimulates blood flow, and relaxes muscles and joints. Without getting too sciency- it’s generally good for you, is a mood booster, provides clarity and focus, and opens your heart and mind. People who are pregnant, have caffeine sensitivities, cardiovascular conditions, are on certain antidepressants, or high blood pressure medication should consult a doctor first and consume in moderation.
What should I bring? Water! Drinking water is important when consuming Cacao, especially if it’s not something you consume regularly. Bring a cushion to sit on, a journal, a pen, and your intention!
