Author Event: Grace Farris – author, doctor & artist (June 16th)

Please join us for a fun and funny event with Austin author Grace Farris. Grace will share her cartoonist skills with us and audience members can draw their own work during the event.

We all know baby’s first milestones—first tooth, first step, first word—and how lovingly parents mark each of them. But what about the person who’s doing so much of the heavy lifting—wrangling a swaddle, packing the diaper bag, decoding the many mysterious parts of a car seat? Finally, here’s a book that tracks and commemorates mom’s journey, from Grace Farris, a doctor, mother of two, and cartoonist behind the wildly popular @coupdegracefarris Instagram.

Warmly humorous and told in a playful comic form, Mom Milestones: The TRUE Story of the First Seven Years celebrates the myriad ways moms grow and adapt to motherhood. The journey begins with one-day-old mom, who may feel like she is learning a new language, and continues through all the turning points of early motherhood, ending with seven-year-old mom, who is intermittently doing tooth fairy duties.

Some supplies will be provided and there will be art supplies available for purchase at Lark & Owl Booksellers, if you choose.
